Biography
Julie Lin is a chef, writer and broadcaster. Her restaurant Ga Ga, co-owned with Marc Ferrier and Fraser Hamilton, was awarded the 'Best Restaurant in Scotland' and focuses on Asian and Malaysian cuisine.
Named by The List as one of the most influential women in Scotland for her work in food and the hospitality industry, she develops recipes for companies and publications such as Love Food, Hate Waste Scotland, Aldi, BBC Food, The Scotsman, Vice and many more.
At the age of 25 Julie got her first broadcasting gig with Jimmy Lee on STV's Julie and Jimmy's Hot Woks. Since then she has worked with The Hairy Bikers on their show 'Go North', appeared on the BBC's Coast to Coast Food Festival and Netflix’s ‘Somebody Feed Phil’. Julie has also cooked many times on BBC's Saturday Kitchen Live with Matt Tebutt.
She has contributed to and written for several publications such as The Guardian, Courier Magazine, The Observer, BBC Food and Vice. And her debut recipe book Sama Sama is being published by Ebury in May 2025.
